Dumpster Gang is built for one to four players, online. There is no split-screen mode and no local wireless play. The gang shares the loot, shares the objectives and shares the consequences when the Exterminator catches someone.
The four pages below cover the parts people actually ask about: how a session runs, whether platforms mix, whether you can play on one couch, and what the player cap really is.
- Co-op Basics — the shape of a session, from the first bin to the getaway.
- Crossplay — PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 in one lobby? What is known.
- Local Co-op — couch play, split screen and the short answer.
- How Many Players — the four-player limit and what it means for a group of five.
Four is the ceiling
The player cap is four, and it is a design limit rather than a server limit: missions, loot weights and the Exterminator's patrol are tuned for a small gang.

Why the co-op design is the game
Solo play works. But the systems are built around other people: heavy loot needs two sets of paws, puzzles split attention, and a captured teammate turns the last two minutes of a job into a rescue.
Betrayal is part of the design too. The publisher's own description mentions betrayals and accidents as part of the job, which is a polite way of saying that the raccoon carrying the best loot is also the raccoon who can throw it into a river.
